Collection: Mokume Gane

Mokume Gane is a Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns. We fuse several layers of different metals together to form a sandwich of alloys called a "billet." Here we are fusing pure silver, copper and brass. Once the metal has been rolled into a sheet or bar, hammering is used to produce a range of effects. A patina is then applied to enhance the different metal tones.
No one piece is exactly the same, a true one of a kind technique.
The quest is infinite, forever searching new techniques and effects.
