EXTRA Large

EXTRA Large

Our patrons often refer to our jewelry as being large or even extra large.

However, jewelry is typically seen as an "accessory," a term that suggests something placed alongside another item. An accessory in a crime (such as an accomplice) may receive a lighter sentence in court. In fashion, designers usually add accessories to enhance the overall look.

Similarly, those who wear jewelry on a daily basis tend to do the same.

This makes extra large jewelry an intriguing concept - big, bold and eye-catching, it can make its own statement rather than simply complementing the main event.

Remarkably, such pieces tend to be worn at both the upper and lower extremes of the class hierarchy, but hardly ever by those in the middle. Those in the middle are happy to follow each other with a rather boring look made up of discreet trinkets that they all have in common.

Extra large jewelry is literally about not fitting in; it tacitly contests the idea that jewelry should only serve as appropriate ornamentation.
