Handmade Silver Jewelry
Share
There are reasons why we make handmade silver jewelry, it feels different, not just in the weight of the metal or the texture beneath your fingertips, but in the energy it carries. At Reva Jewellery, we create each piece by hand because we believe jewelry should hold more than beauty. It should hold meaning.
Each design begins with a sketch, a quiet conversation between concept and craft. From there, our artisans shape, solder, hammer, forge, anneal, and polish every component using traditional ancestral techniques passed down through generations. This is the foundation of our handmade silver jewelry, not a trend but a philosophy.
925 and 950: Two Faces of Silver
Most of the world knows silver as 925 sterling, 92.5% pure, strong and practical, perfect for casting in large numbers. It is the standard, and for good reason.
But in our Bali workshop, we often turn to 950 fine silver. With 95% purity, it carries a softer touch and a warmer glow. It bends to the rhythm of hammer and file, its softness making it easier to shape by hand than 925 sterling. 925 is silver for industry, but 950 is silver for the hand, richer, rarer, and more intimate in its making. Every piece of our fine silver jewellery is stamped 950, a mark of both purity and pride.
Forging vs. Casting
When we forge and anneal silver, we are not just shaping, we are strengthening. Each strike of the hammer compresses the metal’s structure, leaving it denser, tougher, and more enduring than cast alternatives. This is why handmade silver jewelry, especially in 950 fine silver, feels so alive on the skin.
Casting, by contrast, is quick. Molten silver is poured into molds, and in the process tiny air pockets form that no eye can see. Over time, those voids can weaken what was meant to last. Hand-forged silver is different, a continuous body of metal, solid and whole.
The Polish of the Hand
Forged silver, free of those hidden flaws, accepts polish like a mirror. In 950, the glow deepens, the surface catching light more evenly. The shine lingers not only because of the metal, but because of the care given to it.
Handmade Means Human
Look closely and you will see it, the subtle variations that mark the hand of the maker. They are not mistakes, but proof. Proof that this piece was shaped by breath and patience, not by machine. Proof that jewellery can carry presence as well as beauty.
Craft as Rebellion
In a world where everything is faster, cheaper, easier, handmade silver jewellery is a quiet rebellion. It protects tradition, honors skill, and reminds us that meaning takes time.
When you wear Reva, you are not just wearing silver. You are carrying a fragment of Bali’s soul, forged in 950 fine silver, shaped by human hands, alive with story.
